Drygrange Community Woodland

New tree planting next to the river

Drygrange Community Woodland is 9.32 hectares. The wood is in the grounds of Grange Hall nursing home the once Baronial Mansion built in the 1800's. The woodland follows the Leader Water on a steep sided bank and is designated as ancient woodland. There are old mature parkland trees to be seen with beautiful spring displays of Wild Garlic and Bluebells along the river side. The woodland is owned by Borders Forest Trust. A small number of local residents help support the long term management of the woodland. Both school pupils and residents of the Grange use the woodland on a regular basis.

Access

There are two access points into the woodland. One is 50m north of the Tweed Forum office through a gate. The second is at the rear of the main Grange which can be reached by going to the right of the main building and passing through a small field and a sign is visible to your right. There are two paths that loop between these access points. One path stays at the top of the river valley while the second follows the river lower down.
